2007 Australian General Election

Australia held its parliamentary election on November 24, 2007. All 150 seats in the House of Representatives were up for election, and a party needed to win at least 76 seats to form a majority government.

The election ended 11 years of Liberal-National governance, with the incumbent Prime Minister John Howard losing his own seat in the House. The Labor Party flipped 23 seats to form a majority government.
