2016 Australian General Election

Australia held its parliamentary election on July 2, 2016. All 150 seats in the House of Representatives were up for election, and a party needed to win at least 76 seats to form a majority government.

The incumbent Liberal/National Party Coalition government won a second term in power, though with a bare 76-seat majority that was greatly reduced from their 90-seat landslide victory three years earlier.
