2019 Australian General Election

Australia held its parliamentary election on May 18, 2019. All 151 seats in the House of Representatives were up for election, and a party needed to win at least 76 seats to form a majority government.

The incumbent Liberal/National Party Coalition government won a third consecutive term in power, defying polling that showed the Coalition behind Labor in the period leading up to the election campaign. The Coalition gained a single seat, securing a bare majority of 77 seats in the House.
